Description:

Currie, (formerly known as the Currie Barracks), is one of Canada’s largest urban redevelopment projects, located just seven minutes south of downtown Calgary, Alberta. Controlled by the Canada Lands Company, Currie is the third and last redevelopment site at the former Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Calgary. The new community on the 195-acre site is based on the principles of smart growth and sustainable community design to create complete and integrated neighbourhood. At full development, Currie is expected to accommodate approximately 5,700 housing units of various types, 250,000 sq. ft. of retail and about 613,000 sq. ft. of office space, in addition to a private school, and close to 23 acres of parks and open space.
