Founded in 1709 and located 60 miles north of New York City, Newburgh is one of the oldest most architecturally significant cities in the U.S. but declined and fell into disrepair over several decades. The City of Newburgh set a vision for the revitalization of its downtown and waterfront through a community-led advisory group known as Newburgh 2020, which secured public funding and community support for the revitalization of Liberty Street to begin this transformation.
