Snowshoe Mountain is a ski resort in the eastern United States, in Snowshoe, West Virginia. The resort is located on Cheat Mountain in the Allegheny Mountains, which are a part of the vast Appalachian Mountain Range. It has a summit elevation of 4,848, feet, skiable terrain across 244 acres and covers a total area of 11,000 acres, making it the largest winter resort in the Mid-Atlantic. It was purchased by Intrawest Corporation in 1995, who developed The Village at Snowshoe at the summit of the mountain.
